BCL/ACLS Certification Classes

The Certification Center is where New York's place to come to get certified in a large number of areas that can help your career. We have a new class starting in January that will be great! It will answer the needs of many people. This new class is a combination ACLS/BLS certification. The combination Basic Cardiac Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support covers all the bases.

BLS

A Basic Life Support class will cover adult and pediatric CPR, two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask. Other topics that will be covered will be foreign-body airway obstruction and automated external defibrillation. Special resuscitation situation, other cardiopulmonary emergencies as well as stroke and cardiac arrest will be covered. This is a basic class and intended for people in many different fields. It fits the needs of licensed and unlicensed people. It is intended to teach people how to access a patient and go through the basic steps and how to keep them alive until they are transported to the hospital.

ACLS

This course builds on the skills of BLS as well as taking them further. This course emphasizes team communication and dynamic systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. Pharmacology related to airway management is also covered. 2-rescuer scenarios and the use of the bag-valve mask are two new items in this class. There are sections covering a science overview and mega code treatment
