It is intended to teach people how to access a patient and go through the basic steps and how to keep them alive until they are transported to the hospital.

This course builds on the skills of BLS as well as taking them further. This course emphasizes team communication and dynamic systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. Pharmacology related to airway management is also covered. 2-rescuer scenarios and the use of the bag-valve mask are two new items in this class.
